Service Methodology
Pathways Ireland endeavours to take steps towards a better future for young people and their families by providing young people with a place of safety in a warm and caring home environment, where therapeutic interventions are delivered in a well- planned, highly-structured and consultative manner by a management and staff team who are experienced, appropriately trained, supervised and supported to deliver an accessible Model of Care, which promotes effective, accountable and professional practices that at all times demonstrate the paramountcy of the young person’s welfare. Through stringent performance-appraisal methodologies, we can demonstrate that delivering our service in a professional, supportive, and accountable environment is imperative in the creation and maintenance of therapeutic relationships leading to better outcomes and positive progress towards desired goals.
Our Services
Clinical Support Services
Our clinical support person/s provide a comprehensive service to both our children and young people and our care teams. We recognise the importance of trauma informed practice in the development of programs to support our staff teams to better understand and manage complex behaviours. Our clinical support person designs and presents specific, individualised training programs to the care teams to support them to understand and respond to behaviours of concern.
Dedicated Activity Coordinators
The activity coordinators design individualised training programmes and planned activities for each young person upon their admission. The programmes are personalised to the young person’s needs, age and physical ability, preference for different sports, activities and interests. The activity plans are incorporated into the young people’s weekly and monthly goals, which are developed and monitored by the young person’s allocated key workers.
Recreation Programme
The Recreational Programme aims for all young people/children living in Pathways Irelands children’s residential centres to foster and develop increased learning and development opportunities by encouraging and supporting them to engage in activities in the centre and their local communities.
Environmental Sustainability Programme
Pathways Ireland have an environmental programme aimed at minimising waste at source, increasing recycling and improving energy efficiency. Our homes have a sustainability working group that focuses on projects to support sustainable lifestyles in each centre.
